At least ten rescue and assistance operations were conducted across Goa's beaches during the past weekend, an official said on Monday.

Two tourists from Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh were rescued by lifesavers at the Baga beach in separate incidents. A five-year-old boy, found wandering alone, was also reunited with his family.

At Candolim beach, a 22-year-old tourist from Karnataka's Belagavi sustained a suspected spinal injury after repeatedly jumping into the water despite warnings. The lifesavers safely extracted the victim, who was unable to move his limbs.

At Sinquerim beach, a 52-year-old tourist from Dharwad suffered a knee dislocation after being struck by a strong wave while standing in knee-deep water.

An 11-year-old boy was rescued near Vainguinim beach (North Goa) after falling into the water from a private jetty. A water sports operator pulled him, following which Drishti Marine's lifesaver administered first aid and monitored his condition before he was shifted to the hospital by ambulance.

At Baina beach, two local boys aged 10 and 11 were rescued after being swept away by strong waves.

Separately, two tourists were administered first aid in separate incidents at Palolem beach, the spokesperson said.
