Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is pushing for an economic transformation, focused on empowering women. In a recent announcement, Reddy unveiled a comprehensive plan for women Self Help Groups (SHGs) to establish rice mills, logistic parks, and corporate-style super bazaars.
During a virtual event, where Reddy laid the foundation for 8,000 'Indira Gandhi Stree Sakthi' buildings for SHGs, he committed to providing land and facilitating bank loans. This plan includes doubling the previously available credit from Rs five lakh to Rs ten lakh for these groups.
Amid challenges in paddy procurement due to issues in transportation and processing, Reddy emphasized the accountability women can bring in handling logistics and production processes. He also encouraged the construction of 'Mahila Sakthi Super Bazars' and stressed the government's commitment to support women-led enterprises through various initiatives, including land provision and corpus funds.
