Tragic Bus Collision on Virginia Highway Leaves Five Dead, Dozens Injured

In a tragic incident on Virginia's Interstate 95, a bus collided with six other vehicles, resulting in the deaths of five individuals and injuries to 34 more, authorities reported on Friday.

The accident took place at approximately 2:35 am in Stafford County, as vehicles slowed for a construction zone ahead. State police stated that all fatalities were passengers in the vehicles hit by the bus, with three of the wounded in critical condition.

According to initial findings, traffic was reducing speed for an upcoming work zone when the bus failed to decelerate in time, leading to the multi-vehicle collision, a state police news release explained.
