CBSE Payment System Breach Exposes Malicious Attack
A security breach in the CBSE revaluation portal allowed 50 students to enter the system unlawfully. Investigation by IIT experts is underway to improve security, with four banks aiding in payment integration.

The CBSE revaluation portal recently experienced a security breach, giving approximately 50 students unauthorised system access. Sources within the government highlighted the payment gateway associated with HDFC Bank as a key point of entry for the malicious attack.
This breach triggered erratic fee amounts on the portal, ranging dramatically from Rs 1 to about Rs 68,000. Faculty suspect this incident was either a prank or intentionally harmful manipulation. Efforts involving IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, and Digital Infrastructure Corporation of India are focused on rectifying the system's vulnerabilities.
Four public sector banks—State Bank of India, Canara Bank, Indian Bank, and Bank of Maharashtra—are being enlisted to fortify the payment systems in collaboration with the CBSE's digital infrastructure. Upgrades included migrating parts of the system to Amazon Web Services (AWS) to increase space and reliability.
