Berger Paints, a leading paint manufacturer, is intensifying its efforts to expand in smaller towns and rural areas of Uttar Pradesh, aiming to tap into this rapidly growing market.
The company's CEO, Abhijit Roy, explained the strategy to broaden its footprint, particularly in the eastern and western parts of the state where its presence is less dominant. With over 6,000 dealers already stationed in the region, Berger Paints plans to further enhance its ground-level operations and market penetration.
The company has invested over Rs 1,200 crore in a manufacturing facility near Lucknow, along with an additional Rs 200 crore for expansion. This investment supports an array of products, including decorative paints and industrial coatings. Plans for new warehouses are also underway to bolster logistics and service capabilities within the state.
Roy highlighted the continuous growth in demand for paints driven by urbanisation, infrastructure, and industrial development in Uttar Pradesh. Noting a 12-15 percent market growth rate, he expressed confidence about future prospects, bolstered by positive government relations and support in investment promotion.
