A tour bus driver has been charged with manslaughter after a devastating crash on Interstate 95 resulted in the deaths of five people. Jing Sheng Dong, 48, from Staten Island, New York, initially faced two felony counts of involuntary manslaughter following the incident. On Monday, a grand jury in Stafford County Circuit Court indicted him on three additional manslaughter counts, along with a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving.

The chain-reaction crash occurred in the early morning on Friday, about 45 miles southwest of Washington, D.C., as Dong allegedly failed to slow his vehicle for approaching traffic in a highway construction zone. The tour bus slammed into the back of a Chevrolet Suburban, which was then forced into an Acura SUV and other vehicles. The Acura caught fire, resulting in four fatalities, including two children. A fifth victim was in the Suburban.

All five fatalities were from Massachusetts, while more than 40 others suffered injuries in the catastrophic incident. Dong, who remains in custody without bond, is currently hospitalized due to injuries sustained in the crash.
