The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has initiated action against the Delhi Tamil Education Society Senior Secondary School for failing to pay property taxes. This move saw parts of the school on Pusa Road attached under Section 156A of the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, 1957.
According to an MCD statement, the school management had repeatedly ignored notices to clear the outstanding dues. As a result, officials took control of administrative areas, although classrooms were deliberately left untouched to avoid disrupting students.
The operation involved personnel from the Rajender Nagar police station, and further actions may be undertaken if the school does not settle its debts. The institution is situated within Circle-11 of the MCD's jurisdiction.
