Uddhav Thackeray, chief of Shiv Sena (UBT), affirmed on Sunday that his party's objection lies not with the Hindi language, but with its forced imposition in schools.
Thackeray expressed his views to reporters following demonstrations where protesters burned copies of the June 17 government resolution on the three-language policy in south Mumbai. Similar protests were organized statewide by the Shiv Sena (UBT).
Declaring his stance on the GR, Thackeray stated, "The question is the pressure exerted on students," as he emphasized that the issue isn't the language but the imposed requirement. He confirmed a large-scale protest, alongside the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, is planned for July 5.
