Rahul Singh, a senior bureaucrat and 1996-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Bihar cadre, has been granted a two-year extension as chairperson of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). This significant decision was made through an official order released by the Personnel Ministry.
Initially appointed to lead the CBSE on March 13 of last year, Singh's central deputation tenure was set to conclude on November 11, 2025. However, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has now sanctioned an extension, prolonging his term until November 11, 2027.
This extension reflects confidence in Singh's leadership and a continued commitment to overseeing significant educational frameworks within the nation.
