In a noteworthy initiative, Ravindra Khebudkar, CEO of Sindhudurg Zilla Parishad, has replaced the tradition of presenting flower bouquets during official events with bouquets of notebooks. These notebooks are subsequently donated to children from marginalized communities.
Khebudkar, who took charge as CEO in Sindhudurg district this February, stated that nearly 2,000 notebooks have been collected and distributed to students in need. 'This small effort makes a real difference in the education of needy children,' Khebudkar remarked during a PTI interview on Wednesday.
Having previously implemented a similar initiative in Sangli-Miraj Municipal Corporation, where around 30,000 notebooks were distributed, Khebudkar's effort continues to make a substantial impact in his current role. The initiative not only allows officials to be greeted traditionally but also channels resources to students who truly need them, he emphasized.
