In a major crackdown, police in Badarpur busted an illegal firecracker storage unit, arresting Dharamvir Singh. The operation, ahead of the festive season, resulted in the discovery of 225 kilograms of firecrackers stored without authorization.
Police received a tip-off on September 16 about the illicit storage in the Moladband area. Subsequently, a raid on a rooftop storage room revealed the massive stockpile. Singh, who allegedly sourced the firecrackers from Palwal in Haryana, was arrested at the scene.
The unauthorized storage without safety measures posed a significant public safety threat, prompting immediate police action. Legal proceedings have commenced, and investigations aim to unravel the broader illegal supply network.
