Nara Lokesh, the IT Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has extended an invitation to BlackBuck, an online trucking platform, to relocate to Visakhapatnam. This follows a public grievance by Rajesh Yabaji, BlackBuck's Co-Founder and CEO, regarding infrastructure and commuting difficulties in Bengaluru.
Yabaji highlighted the issues of traffic congestion and deteriorating road conditions around Bellandur on Bengaluru's Outer Ring Road, a significant IT hub, as reasons behind the decision to move. He mentioned that the average one-way commute time had surged to over 1.5 hours for his colleagues.
Lokesh promoted Visakhapatnam as a viable alternative, citing its ranking among India's cleanest cities and its reputation as a safe environment for women, alongside ongoing efforts to improve local infrastructure.
