Authorities in Gorakhpur have arrested Rahim, the primary suspect in the murder of Deepak Gupta, a 19-year-old NEET aspirant, following a dramatic encounter in Mauachapi village. The joint police operation ended with Rahim sustaining injuries and being taken into police custody.

Deepak Gupta's brutal killing by cattle smugglers has incited widespread outrage, leading to violent protests, a road blockade, and injuries to local law enforcement, including SP North Jitendra Srivastava and Police Station in-charge Puroshattam Anand Singh.

The chilling sequence of events began on Monday at approximately 12:30 am when cattle smugglers, using three vehicles, were confronted by villagers. Deepak was abducted, assaulted, and his body discovered later, sparking a public outcry.
