A 19-year-old NEET aspirant named Deepak Gupta was tragically killed by cattle smugglers in Gorakhpur's Mauachapi village. The incident occurred late Monday night, prompting violent protests, stone-pelting, and a road blockade. Senior Police officials were injured during the chaos as tensions soared.
Gorakhpur SSP Raj Karan Nayyar detailed the incident, revealing that smugglers arrived with three vehicles in Mauachapi village. Villagers, including Gupta, confronted them. Tragically, the smugglers abducted Gupta, crushed his head, and dumped his body kilometers away. A case has been registered, with police forces actively searching for the perpetrators.
In response to the incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered strict action. Senior officials, including District Magistrate Deepak Meena, engaged with the victim's family. Amid promises for justice and aid, authorities continue a rigorous search operation for the smugglers, striving for immediate arrests and closure.
