The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating the alleged NEET (UG) paper leak scandal that has rocked Maharashtra's educational sector. The controversy escalated when the director of a well-known coaching centre in Latur, Shivraj Motegaonkar, was questioned by the CBI team.

The team, consisting of 28 members, has been in Latur since Wednesday, intensifying their inquiry by detaining key individuals suspected of involvement, including retired chemistry faculty member P V Kulkarni. Sources say that Kulkarni was part of the NEET paper-setting committee.

The NEET (UG) 2026 exam, initially conducted on May 3, was cancelled following these allegations on May 12. Complaints from parents and evidence, including CCTV footage, have prompted the investigation. While several persons have been questioned, evidence continues to emerge.
