In a decisive move, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has declared that the NEET-UG will undergo a re-examination on June 21. This action follows serious allegations of irregularities in the initial exam conducted on May 3. The minister emphasized that the exam will transition to a computer-based format from next year to prevent future discrepancies.
Pradhan reassured students and guardians that the government prioritizes their future, pledging zero tolerance for malpractice. The initial exam was canceled after overlaps with guess papers were found. The re-test offers candidates the chance to choose new test cities and mandates strict action against anyone involved in unlawful activities.
Amidst efforts to maintain integrity, the Central Bureau of Investigation has been enlisted to probe the leak allegations. Pradhan confirmed that from May 15 to 21, candidates can update exam preferences on the official NTA website. The exam will be held in pen-and-paper mode, covering 13 languages.
