Delhi Launches Ranikhera Pond Revamp for Eco-Friendly Industry Hub
The Delhi government plans to rejuvenate the Ranikhera pond as a preliminary phase for establishing a multilevel manufacturing hub. The rejuvenation aims to enhance drainage, groundwater recharge, and environmental conditions, facilitating an eco-friendly industrial zone featuring IT and biotechnology sectors, administrative blocks, and more.
The Delhi government has announced an initiative to rejuvenate the Ranikhera pond in the city's northwestern region, setting the stage for a new multilevel manufacturing hub project, according to official sources.
The Delhi State Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) has already floated a tender to start the rejuvenation process, which is expected to conclude in three months. The costs are estimated at Rs 45.5 lakh.
Scheduled to encompass 147 acres, the Ranikhera land is set to develop into an industrial hub for eco-friendly industries like IT and biotechnology. This development aims to provide land at concessional rates to boost non-polluting service sector industries, creating numerous job opportunities.
