Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta declared women's safety and education as top priorities for her administration. Speaking at a bicycle distribution event organized in R K Puram by local MLA Anil Sharma and the Rotary Club, Gupta highlighted efforts to provide 500 bicycles to girls who passed classes 10 and 12.
Gupta emphasized, "In Delhi, the safety, education, and respect of our daughters are crucial concerns. The 'Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana' has been initiated to address these issues." She added that as part of nationwide fuel-saving initiatives, providing one cycle per family could be beneficial.
The Chief Minister announced plans to distribute free bicycles to female students, a scheme her government launched to support around 1.30 lakh girls enrolling in class 9 annually. This initiative aims to assist girls in reaching schools and encourage sustainable transportation.
