In a significant development concerning the NEET paper leak case, a Delhi court has placed the Renukai Career Centre's founder, Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar, in CBI custody for nine days. The court's decision came after the federal agency requested time to interrogate the accused extensively. According to the remand application, Motegaonkar allegedly conspired to leak and circulate the NEET UG exam questions for 2026.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) claims that Motegaonkar had access to the chemistry questions and answers days before the examination and distributed them to others. Evidence suggests that the leaked questions were found on his mobile phone. Motegaonkar is also accused of providing leaked questions to several candidates at his coaching institute, RCC.
Further investigation aims to uncover his connection with other accused individuals, including a chemistry lecturer and a biology lecturer already in custody. A video allegedly showing Motegaonkar affirming the leaked questions' accuracy raised additional concerns. Authorities arrested Motegaonkar in Latur, underlining the seriousness with which the federal agency is pursuing the case.
