Addressing the 7th convocation of Sikkim University in Gangtok, Droupadi Murmu underscored education as a crucial tool for empowering women. She was pleased to see that 70% of the medal recipients were female students, exemplifying women's strength through education.
Murmu praised the students for their academic achievements, attributing their success to talent and determination. She offered advice for their future success, urging them to believe in their abilities and prioritize goals.
Earlier, Murmu participated in the inauguration of the 'Pink City Runner - Aama Didi Bahini Bus Sewa' in Gangtok, an all-women-operated bus service. Additionally, Murmu commended Sikkim for its dedication to environmental preservation and sustainable development, citing its status as an organic and plastic-free state as evidence.
Despite plans to visit the Nathu La mountain pass and meet with Indian Army personnel, adverse weather conditions led to the cancellation of this segment of her trip.
