Kerala Schools Introduce Cyber Safety Initiative on New Academic Year Start

As the academic year kicks off, students across Kerala will participate in a cyber safety pledge on their first day back at school. This initiative is part of the Kid Glove Project, launched by Cyberdome, the cybersecurity unit of Kerala Police, aimed at encouraging safe digital practices among young people.

The programme will see more than 15,400 schools under the General Education Department involve students in reciting the 'Cyber Pledge', a commitment to maintaining secure and ethical online habits. Authorities have highlighted plans to expand the programme to include CBSE and ICSE schools throughout the state in future phases.

The initiative intends to improve cyber security awareness among students and foster responsible internet use from an early age. The effort was confirmed in an official statement, indicating a sustained focus on cultivating a secure digital environment for children.
