Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing criticism of Narendra Modi for neglecting the CBSE's On-Screen Marking (OSM) controversy, which has impacted 1.85 million students. Instead, Modi chose to discuss mangoes during his monthly radio program, 'Mann Ki Baat', according to Gandhi.

Gandhi asserted that the CBSE tender initially called for high-resolution scanning of answer sheets with specific equipment, which was removed in later revisions, resulting in answer sheets being scanned with mobile phones. This, he argued, led to unresolved issues like missing pages and errors, alleging these were outcomes of favoring certain vendors through the contract.

Describing this as fraud against students, Gandhi stressed that Modi's failure to address the issue amounts to complicity. He highlighted a video conversation with students befuddled by the issue, vowing to secure a fair resolution for them.
