Jake Schreier, celebrated for his work on 'Thunderbolts,' is reportedly in negotiations to direct Marvel's forthcoming 'X-Men' film, according to Variety. While talks are in the preliminary stages and no agreement has been finalized, Schreier's reputation has surged within Disney and Marvel Studios, making him a top contender.

Accompanying Schreier's potential involvement is screenwriter Michael Lesslie, known for 'The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes,' who collaborated on the screenplay. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is set to produce. However, details surrounding the film's cast, plot, and release date remain under wraps.

Schreier's cinematic journey includes directing 2012's sci-fi drama 'Robot & Frank' and the 2015 romantic comedy 'Paper Towns,' along with episodes of Netflix's 'Beef' and 'Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.' His latest success, 'Thunderbolts,' featuring Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, and David Harbour, follows a team of superhumans in the absence of a cohesive Avengers-like group.

Florence Pugh, who plays a lead role in 'Thunderbolts,' will also appear in the upcoming 'Avengers: Doomsday.' She notably insisted on performing her own stunts for the 'Thunderbolts' scene involving a leap from Merdeka 118, the world's second-tallest building, showcasing her penchant for heights, despite insurance concerns.

The film 'Thunderbolts' is currently screening in theaters, garnering positive reviews from Marvel enthusiasts. (ANI)
