Goa has reported an impressive 10.5% increase in tourist arrivals during the first quarter of 2025, welcoming 28,51,554 visitors, according to Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte. This growth has been driven by a strategic focus on enhancing international air connectivity and diversifying the state's tourism offerings.
The three-pronged strategy, which includes targeting core and emerging markets and improving air links, particularly with the Middle East, has been pivotal in transforming Goa from a seasonal beach location into a year-round global destination. The state has launched efforts to appeal to high-value cultural tourists through initiatives like the 'Chalo India Global Diaspora Initiative.'
Strong partnerships with Gulf airlines have facilitated new direct flights from Dubai, Kuwait, and Abu Dhabi, boosting accessibility. Additionally, Goa's participation in international tourism fairs like WTM London and ITB Asia has strengthened its market presence. The state continues to explore novel tourism products, including wellness retreats and monsoon travel packages, to attract diverse visitor segments.
