In a vibrant display of tradition and spirituality, Kushinagar District Magistrate Mahendra Singh Tanwar inaugurated a 'Shobha Yatra' on Buddha Purnima by unfurling the Panchsheel Dhamma flag. The event, which commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and Mahaparinirvana of Lord Buddha, drew hundreds to partake in the celebrations.
The significance of the day was further underlined during the 'Trividh Pavani' programme, where Tanwar stressed the importance of Buddha's life principles that inspire peace and knowledge. In attendance was Buddhist monk Gyaneshwar Bhante, who recounted the miraculous events of Buddha's life, all occurring on Vaishakh Purnima.
Bhante emphasized that the synchronization of these pivotal moments in Buddhism on Buddha Purnima adds a unique depth to the festival. As the district revelled in cultural and religious activities, the message of peace and enlightenment advocated by Buddha resonated with attendees.
