The North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) has made an urgent plea to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and Panthic leadership to ensure the safety of sacred Guru Granth Sahib at Tehran's gurdwara, amid a growing conflict between Iran and Israel.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 2016 visit to Tehran's Bhai Ganga Singh Sabha Gurdwara underscores the significance of these holy sites. NAPA's executive director Satnam Singh Chahal has urged the SGPC to arrange an immediate chartered flight for sacred 'saroops' evacuation.

SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami emphasized the utmost importance of protecting the Guru Granth Sahib. He called on the Indian government to leverage diplomatic relations for safeguarding Sikh communities and religious artifacts in the volatile regions of Iran and Israel.
