For the first time in his illustrious career, fashion icon Giorgio Armani will miss his group's two shows at Milan's Men's Fashion Week. The designer, who will be celebrating his 91st birthday in July, is currently recuperating at home, according to a company statement released on Friday.

Despite his absence from the Emporio Armani catwalk on Saturday and the Giorgio Armani show on Monday, the statement emphasized that Armani has remained dedicated to the collections. Known as "Re Giorgio" or King Giorgio, the designer is renowned for his meticulous attention to detail, overseeing everything from the collections to the models' final touches.

While Armani traditionally greets his audience post-show, this year Leo Dell'Orco, head of menswear design, will undertake the role on his behalf. The company did not provide further details on Armani's health.
