The International Day of Yoga was observed with enthusiasm across West Bengal on Saturday as people from diverse backgrounds gathered to practice 'asanas' in public parks and community spaces.
In Kolkata, early morning sessions took place in numerous areas, including Rabindra Sarobar, Eco Park, and Victoria Memorial grounds. Despite light showers, many yoga aficionados joined in, ranging from senior citizens to school students and office-goers.
Siliguri and other parts of north Bengal hosted yoga events at various scenic spots like tea gardens and along the Mahananda riverbanks. The rural areas were also active, with local clubs and self-help groups organizing community yoga events interspersed with health and wellness awareness initiatives.
