On Saturday, Chhattisgarh's Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai launched the 'Gajrath Yatra,' aiming to mitigate the ongoing human-elephant conflicts that plague the state by promoting wildlife conservation awareness.
The initiative focuses on educating communities about elephant behavior, emphasizing safety and co-existence through sessions in schools, gram panchayats, and local markets, as noted by officials.
Highlighting the crucial role of community engagement, Sai emphasized that the 'Gajrath Yatra' serves as an effective platform for reducing human-wildlife conflicts. The event also saw the release of educational materials by the state forest department and the introduction of the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' tree-planting campaign.
