In a bold move to incorporate wellness into daily life, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini declared yoga as an integral 'art of living' during the 11th International Day of Yoga celebrations. The state is set to introduce a five-minute yoga break across government offices and a uniform yoga curriculum in universities.

Saini's announcement came amid a large gathering at the Brahma Sarovar, Kurukshetra, featuring prominent figures like Governor Bandaru Dattatreya and yoga guru Ramdev. PM Narendra Modi's address was broadcast live, emphasizing yoga's role in global well-being. The event witnessed participation from over one lakh people on-site and around 20 lakh across Haryana's districts, showcasing a collective embrace of the initiative.

Beyond exercises, Saini highlighted yoga's significance in promoting holistic health and introduced the 'Yoga Lekhak Protsahan Yojana' to incentivize yoga research. Additionally, the state plans to build more 'vyayamshalas' and a meditation hall at Shri Krishna AYUSH University. The comprehensive effort aims to blend yoga into education and sports, with plans to appoint coaches and implement credit-based evaluations in schools.
