James Gunn, the co-CEO of DC Studios, has voiced his frustration over the intense scrutiny surrounding 'The Batman II', directed by Matt Reeves. Despite the film's production delays, Gunn remains positive about its progress, highlighting the necessity for Reeves to have ample time to develop a quality screenplay.
According to Deadline, Gunn revealed in an interview that DC Studios anticipates receiving the script for 'The Batman II' by June. He expressed optimism, saying, "We're supposed to get a script in June. I hope that happens. We feel really good about it." He also noted Reeves' excitement and their frequent communication.
Gunn urged fans to be patient, stating bluntly that Reeves should not be pressured. "People should get off Matt's n--s because it's like, let the guy write the screenplay in the amount of time he needs," Gunn said, emphasizing Reeves' resilience against pressure.
Meanwhile, Gunn's 'Superman' film, set to debut on July 11, initiates a new phase for the DCU, distinct from Reeves' 'Batman Epic Crime Saga', which encompasses 'The Batman' (2022) and the Max series spin-off 'The Penguin'.
Reeves has confirmed that 'The Batman II' will begin filming this year, with Robert Pattinson once again donning the cape as Batman. Despite the schedule setbacks, fans are eagerly anticipating the sequel, slated for release on October 1, 2027. (ANI)
