Actor Vijay Devarakonda is facing legal action after being charged under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The charges stem from allegations that the actor made derogatory comments regarding tribal communities during a movie pre-release event.
The complaint, filed in June by Nenavath Ashok Kumar Naik, claims that Devarakonda compared the tribal communities with Pakistani terrorists, causing offense and sparking outrage among tribal groups.
Devarakonda attempted to mitigate the backlash by posting a statement online, clarifying his remarks and expressing regret if his comments had been misunderstood. Despite his apology, the police continue to investigate the matter.
