Amid escalating tensions, Punjabi actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh is at the center of a storm after his latest film 'Sardaar Ji 3' featuring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir incited social media backlash.
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has addressed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to revoke the film's certification over the inclusion of Pakistani talent. This action follows a recent terror attack and India's subsequent military operation, rekindling calls to enforce the ban on Pakistani artists implemented post-2019 Pulwama attack.
Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit reiterated FWICE's stance against collaboration with Pakistani artists, labeling Dosanjh a habitual lawbreaker for his ties with Pakistani talent. Despite the uproar, Dosanjh announced that 'Sardaar Ji 3' will premiere overseas on June 27, with its trailer visible only outside YouTube India.
