Unity in Diversity: The 5th Regional Catholic Youth Convention Ignites Hope
Over 2,000 Catholic youths are set to gather in the Northeastern states for a four-day convention at the Mary Help of Christians Cathedral. The event will encompass spiritual, cultural, and educational sessions, highlighting the diverse traditions of the region while addressing critical youth-centric issues.

Over 2,000 Catholic youths from the Northeastern states are preparing to converge for the 5th Regional Catholic Youth Convention, slated for June 27 to 30 at the Mary Help of Christians Cathedral. Organized by the North Eastern Regional Youth Commission, the event promises to be a significant gathering under the theme 'Pilgrims of Hope'.
Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, the Bishop of Kohima, underscored the event's importance in showcasing the Catholic church's unity amidst diverse cultural backgrounds, with representation from 15 dioceses across three archdioceses. The convention, hosted by the Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement, will open with processions, flag hoistings, and a holy mass.
The event will feature cultural shows celebrating the region's tribal roots and sessions on faith, leadership, social media, and youth empowerment. Notable church leaders and political figures, including Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, will participate. Discussions will also address issues like substance abuse, engaging prominent personalities to inspire the youth.
