Punjabi actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh has stood by his decision to release "Sardaar Ji 3" in overseas markets, amidst mounting criticism over the casting of Pakistani actor Hania Aamir. This controversy erupted after Dosanjh released the film's trailer, scheduled for international release on June 27.

Speaking to the BBC Asian Network, Dosanjh explained that there were no conflicts between India and Pakistan when he signed onto the project. Due to a ban on Pakistani artists, the film won't be shown in India, prompting the decision to target international audiences.

Following the Pahalgam terror attack, which resulted in 26 casualties, tensions soared, leading to strikes by Indian forces in Pakistan. Social media accounts of several Pakistani actors were subsequently restricted in India, and calls for boycotts have surfaced across the Indian film industry.

The producers of 'Sardaar Ji 3', acknowledging significant financial investments, never anticipated hostilities impeding the film's national release. Produced by Gunbir Singh Sidhu and Manmord Sidhu and directed by Amar Hundal, Dosanjh asserts that given the circumstances, the overseas release stands as a viable route.
