During the 11th convocation ceremony of the Indian Veterinary Research Institute in Bareilly, President Droupadi Murmu expressed her belief that the term 'pashu' is an inappropriate reference for animals.
She suggested that animals should instead be regarded as 'jeevan dhan', or 'wealth of life', underscoring their essential role in human existence throughout history and in Indian culture.
The President highlighted the necessity of vaccinating animals to prevent diseases, reiterating their significant contribution to human life. Murmu's arrival in Bareilly was marked by a warm welcome from Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister and Governor.
