A parliamentary panel spearheaded discussions on advancing Sikkim's national highways with Governor Om Prakash Mathur, as per a Raj Bhavan statement released on Monday.
Led by Rajya Sabha MP and Committee Chairman Sanjay Kumar Jha, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism, and Culture is on a five-day mission to Sikkim, exchanging courtesy with the Governor at his official residence.
The discourse primarily revolved around the proposed National Highway-210, connecting Melli to Singtam, alongside fortifying Sikkim's tourism and preserving its cultural heritage. Governor Mathur extended a warm reception, expressing optimism about the committee's contribution to Sikkim's development.
