In the aftermath of the tragic stampede during the Jagannath Rath Yatra, which resulted in three deaths and numerous injuries, Puri officials have enforced extensive safety protocols. Superintendent of Police Pinak Mishra and Puri Collector Chanchal Rana announced measures to enhance security throughout the temple town to prevent further mishaps.

A systematic queue system for devotees and the strategic deployment of senior officials both within and outside the Jagannath Temple are among the steps taken to ensure orderly movement and safety. Control rooms have been established for real-time monitoring and emergency coordination. Speaking to ANI, SP Mishra expressed confidence in the arrangements, noting the controlled crowd and the seamless flow of devotees through designated gates.

Chanchal Rana highlighted the elaborate arrangements for the Adapa Mandapa darshan, including the installation of barricades and ramps for better accessibility. The initiatives reflect a reactive move following Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi's call for a comprehensive administrative inquiry after the stampede, with certain officials being suspended for negligence.
