Veteran actress Poonam Dhillon has opened up about her life post-divorce, shedding light on the challenges she faced within the film industry. In an interview with ANI, Dhillon shared how her path changed after separating from her ex-husband, filmmaker Ashok Thakeria, with whom she shares two children, Anmol and Paloma.

Poonam, who tied the knot with Ashok in 1988 and parted ways in 1997, expressed her initial fear about public perception following the divorce. The actress worried about how friends and colleagues might react, especially in an industry where personal lives often become public gossip.

The actress, however, found solace in the fact that most of her acquaintances maintained their respect and did not alter their behavior towards her. She emphasized the significance of character and noted that any inappropriate conduct she faced highlighted the other person's shortcomings. Reflecting on her early marriage, Poonam revealed how her sheltered upbringing and hectic career left her with limited understanding of relationships.

Despite the amicable nature of her relationship with Thakeria, Dhillon noted that compatibility can sometimes be elusive, even between well-meaning individuals. On the professional front, Dhillon's legacy is etched in iconic films like 'Noorie', and her continued popularity is evidenced by her television appearances and participation in 'Bigg Boss' Season 3.
