Odisha Youth Encouraged to Pursue Sports Careers Amidst Economic Strides

Odisha's Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has signaled a push for youth in the state to consider sports as a viable career option, alongside existing industrial opportunities. Speaking at the 'Yuva Shakti Samabesh' event, Majhi detailed development plans, affirming government support for sports and industrial training.
Emphasizing the state's commitment to fostering a sports culture, Majhi unveiled initiatives to build stadiums across all 314 blocks of Odisha, with a budget of Rs 4,124 crore over four years. The goal is to create pathways for youth to excel and pursue lucrative careers in sports such as cricket, hockey, and emerging games like kabaddi.
Parallel to sports development, Odisha is poised for substantial economic expansion. The state anticipates creating 13 lakh jobs through Rs 17 lakh crore investments, aiming to evolve into a 500 billion USD economy by 2036. The government has already facilitated thousands of youth placements, stressing their pivotal role in driving the state's future growth.
