Arrests at Chester Hospital: New Chapter in Letby Case
Three hospital managers have been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter in connection with Lucy Letby's case. Letby, a nurse serving life for murdering babies, is at the center of a broader investigation into possible corporate manslaughter and individual gross negligence at Countess of Chester Hospital.

In a significant development, British police have arrested three senior managers from Countess of Chester Hospital on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter, following the conviction of nurse Lucy Letby for the murder of seven newborns.
Letby, who worked at the neonatal unit of the hospital between 2015 and 2016, is serving a life sentence. The police investigation now seeks to establish if hospital management might be accountable for negligence leading to corporate manslaughter.
Detective Superintendent Paul Hughes confirmed the arrests, adding that the investigation is extensive and without a definite timeline. Released on bail, the arrested individuals remain under investigation as inquiries continue into potential broader misconduct by Letby.
