Prithviraj Chauhan's Statue to be Restored as Icon of National Pride

The statue of Prithviraj Chauhan, prominently situated at Qila Rai Pithora in Delhi, is set for a thorough conservation and enhancement project, announced Kapil Mishra, the Minister for Delhi Art, Culture and Tourism, on Thursday.

Mishra highlighted the neglected state of the statue, vowing that conservation works would commence posthaste, with officials tasked to initiate the necessary processes. Originally placed by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) in 2002, the statue was later handed over to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).

Emphasizing the memorial's importance, Mishra expressed its role in embodying national pride. He also mentioned the intended removal of an illegal 'mazaar' on the site, aiming to foster future generational connections with historical roots. An inspection by the Kshatriya Development Forum is anticipated to evaluate the current conditions.
