Actor and author Maulik Pancholy delves into the growing influence of the Indian immigrant population across America with his new project, 'Murder at the Patel Motel.' The audio series, a comedy podcast, captures the unique journey of Patel motel owners—a group that represents approximately 50% of U.S. motel proprietors.

Combining humor with a personal touch, 'Murder at the Patel Motel' is a comic Agatha Christie-style mystery. The narrative follows Milan Patel, an event planner from New York voiced by Pancholy, who returns to his family motel only to become embroiled in a murder investigation. Pancholy's character reflects his own experiences growing up as a brown gay kid wanting to escape his small town.

Co-written with Zackary Grady and Achilles Stamatelaky, Pancholy envisioned the series as a scripted audio series. Featuring an impressive cast including Poorna Jagannathan and Murray Bartlett, Pancholy is enthusiastic about his upcoming projects and fresh off working on new films and books. (ANI)
