Shiva temples across the region became a hub of activity as devotees flocked to offer prayers for Sawan Shivratri, coinciding with the Kanwar Yatra's conclusion on Wednesday. Vishwa Bhushan Mishra, CEO of Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi, noted the massive turnout and the floral offerings showered on worshippers.
Authorities, including Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal, assured attendees that law and order were maintained through special surveillance measures involving CCTV and drones. In Sambhal, the reopening of the ancient Kartikeya Mahadev Temple this year attracted significant attention despite its 46-year hiatus.
Emphasizing restoration efforts in Sambhal, Sub Divisional Magistrate Vikas Chandra performed 'jalabhishek', while other officials, including District Magistrate Rajender Pensiya, engaged in ceremonial gestures supporting the pilgrims. The event highlighted community spirit and spotlighted the ongoing developments under local leadership.
