In a concerted push to bolster the rural economy, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla announced efforts to promote tourism in Himachal Pradesh's villages. During his visit to Khajjiar village, he underscored the importance of showcasing the state's rich cultural heritage to a broader audience.
Shukla was captivated by Pukhri village, noting its natural beauty and clean environment make it comparably attractive to popular tourist spots in Himachal. He commended the Chamba district administration and tourism department for their efforts in fostering rural tourism.
Stressing the need for responsible tourism, Shukla called for improved connectivity to facilitate visitor access and boost the local economy. An MoU between ICRT India Foundation and Chamba district aims to enhance tourism in lesser-known areas, with cultural programs highlighting traditional attire further enriching the experience.
