Goa's Digital Leap: 'Har Ghar Fibre' to Revolutionize Internet Connectivity

Goa's Information and Technology Minister, Rohan Khaunte, has unveiled the ambitious 'Har Ghar Fibre' initiative, signaling a transformative era of high-speed internet connectivity across the coastal state. This rollout aims to connect every household, with initial trials set in Porvorim, Sankhalim, and Bicholim in North Goa.
In a bid to enhance digital accessibility, the government plans to establish four new Common Service Centres in Darbandora, Valpoi, Panjim, and Porvorim, facilitating robust access to e-services in both rural and urban regions. Additionally, the Goa Broad Band Network has already connected 414 locations, spanning village panchayats and government offices, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
Public access to internet services is further bolstered by free Wi-Fi access at 137 hotspots statewide. The Goa Online portal continues to thrive, delivering 247 services and witnessing significant usage. The state also nurtures innovation through the Goa Startup Policy, supporting 759 startups with over Rs 4.10 crore in funds.
