A new case has been filed following a complaint by actress Ramya, also known by her real name Divya Spandana, regarding online abuse and threats. This was confirmed by Bengaluru city Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh on Tuesday.

The case is being handled by the Cyber Crime Police Station, located at the Commissioner's Office (CCP), where a deputy commissioner-level officer is overseeing the investigation. The charges include violations under the Information Technology Act and sections addressing criminal intimidation and sexual harassment.

Ramya initially addressed the abusive online behavior from actor Darshan's fans after discussing the Renukaswamy murder case proceedings. Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar has publicly supported Ramya, emphasizing the necessity of respecting women in society and condemning the abusive language used against her.
