A prominent Malayalam rapper, Vedan, known formally as Hirandas Murali, is under legal scrutiny following accusations of sexual assault. A lady doctor has lodged a complaint alleging the rapper attacked her multiple times over two years, leading to a case being filed under sections 376 and 376(2)(n) of the Indian Penal Code.

Kochi City Police Commissioner Putta Vimaladitya reported that the investigation remains in its early stages, noting that there have been financial exchanges between the accuser and Vedan. The commissioner emphasized the need to verify the allegations and speak with all relevant parties before proceeding further.

Vedan's legal troubles are not new, having faced previous arrests related to drugs and possession of a leopard tooth, as well as accusations from a BJP leader over content in his music. The ongoing developments continue to draw public and media attention.
