In a poignant address at the 'Fifth Edition of the India Rural Colloquy 2025', Madhya Pradesh Minister Prahlad Patel underscored the indispensable role of human values in the age of technology. He stated that while technology facilitates improved living standards, it should not overshadow empathy and cultural heritage.
Speaking at the event hosted at the Indian Institute of Forest Management, Patel highlighted the saturation of materialistic ideologies in governance, stressing the urgent need to focus on the conservation of ecological and cultural resources. Patel pointed to the Narmada Parikrama as a testament to traditional environmental stewardship.
Moreover, the minister launched the Gram Panchayat Helpdesk initiative, aimed at fostering grassroots change. He called for introspection within the educated sectors about their disconnect from riverine origins, as these natural assets face neglect and pollution. The colloquy also celebrated rural development projects and the contributions of leaders like Padma Shri Janak Palta.
