The 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has found enthusiastic support from the industrial sector in Haryana, as reported by an official release on Saturday.
A dedicated plantation event took place at IMT Manesar, drawing the participation of over 4,000 industry representatives, as per the release.
Union Ministers Manohar Lal and Bhupender Yadav, alongside Haryana's Environment Minister Rao Narbir Singh and senior district officers, were present at the event, which saw simultaneous plantations at five key Manesar locations.
Union Minister Manohar Lal emphasized the need for individual responsibility in tree planting, stating that 15 trees are required per person's life span. He underscored the urgency for such campaigns in districts like Gurugram, where industrial and urban pressures exacerbate air pollution concerns.
Industrial leaders expressed their commitment to the campaign, pledging to enhance greenery within and around their factory premises.
